Donald R. O’Quinn, Principal

Donald R. O’Quinn became principal of Yavneh Academy in 1999, and has presided over an unprecedented period of growth in facilities, student population, and academic excellence. Mr. O’Quinn’s entire professional life has centered on the education of young people in Texas. His hallmark at Yavneh is a willingness to permit students to pursue their passions, and a commitment to encouraging them to explore their dreams.

A native Texan, Mr. O’Quinn received his B.S. and M.S. in physics and mathematics from Stephen F. Austin State University. During his 30-year career in Texas public education, he has served as a teacher, department chair, assistant principal, and principal of a large public high school. After retiring from public high school education, he worked as a college instructor of physics and an educational consultant.

In 1999,  Mr. O’Quinn brought his considerable range of experience to Yavneh Academy, and under his watch, the school has forged a reputation as one of the finest private high schools in Dallas.
