Chad Baruch came to Yavneh Academy in 1997. He serves as assistant principal, director of athletics, basketball coach, debate coach, and government instructor. In addition to his work at Yavneh, Mr. Baruch is a Dallas attorney who serves in multiple leadership positions for the State Bar of Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors, a member of the Council of Chairs, Chair of the State Bar Individual Rights & Responsibilities Section, Past Chair of the State Bar Consumer & Commercial Law Section, Course Director for the State Bar's Bill of Rights Course and its Advanced Consumer & Commercial Law Course, and a published expert on constitutional history and civil liberties. Mr. Baruch also lectures frequently to other lawyers on writing skills. He is a Sustaining Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, a member of the State Bar College and Pro Bono College, and a member of the American Society of Writers on Legal Subjects.
Mr. Baruch received his B.A. in political science from the University of Minnesota and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School. He also completed the Principals Institute in the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University.
Noted for teaching excellence by the Texas Association of Accredited Private Schools, he has published more than 25 legal articles and book chapters, including several articles discussing the intersection of Jewish and secular law. Mr. Baruch is an approved grader for the AP Government Examination. In 2005, he was the keynote speaker at the Texas Association of Accredited Private Schools Annual Conference. In 2006, he was a finalist for the Texas Coach of the Year award from the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.
